My goodness, where has this year gone??? We have been so busy that the months have just flown by. We have welcomed back most of our winter people and have renewed old friendships. Now we are ready to get back to work and get some more projects started.
This past summer we visited the Children's Home Society houses. We decided we would do something to spruce them up for Christmas besides more quilts, so we chose to make Christmas placemats and table runners for each house. Since we wanted them to be used more than just one season of the year, we made them reversible so the other side could be used for everyday. You can check the picture gallery for those. Our Patti Page was in charge of this project, and she did a fantastic job keeping us moving forward. Thank you for your effort, Patti!
Our summer library project for children that was eluded to in the last president's message finished with a bang. All 18 children that stayed with us all summer finished all six of the squares. We had a hard time keeping up with them as we cut the material for them. They are looking forward to adding the sashing and quilting them next summer.
Looking forward to our culminating activity of the year - our annual Christmas party which will be held on Friday, December 9th at our favorite restaurant in Ormond Beach. Several members are furiously working on their challenge projects in hopes of winning one of the three prizes that will be awarded. Each member will also bring four coordinating fat quarters for swapping. There are always fun activities, and we look foward to them each year.
We hope that you all will have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year; and remember, if you are ever in our area, please stop in and say hello any Friday. You will find a very friendly group of ladies.

Charitable Quilters
Quilters are known for their charity, and local quilt guild members are no exception. An article appeared in the Daytona Beach News Journal on July 14 about Flagler County's Memory Makers Quilt Guild. To read the entire article, go to the Journal's web site at www.news-journalonline.com.
Our QBTS members also recently participated in the "Million Pillowcase Challenge" by spending a day making pillowcases that will be donated to the Ormond Beach Oncology Center. For photos of members at work on pillowcases, go to the News page on this site (left column).
